AIG Volunteer Day

Supporting 160 Students in Preparing Their Future Professional Lives

Jakarta - On 21 October 2019, AIG Indonesia volunteers had a blast with 160 students of SMKN 63 Jakarta Selatan in Volunteer Day – Junior Achievement Career Success.

14 volunteers shared their knowledge to assist students in increasing their skill as preparation to entering the workplace experience. One of the areas emphasized was how fresh graduates should prepare themselves to enter the gate of working life.

Soft skills play a big part in the work place.  During the program, AIG volunteers helped the students to explore their strengths and identify their weaknesses.  In addition, students also had opportunity to improve their resume that will stand out from the crowd.

To share experience of job interview, AIG volunteers presented interview simulations to show the dos and don’ts to achieve best result from the session.

One of other key soft skill needed in the workplace is the ability to work in a team.  At the end of program, students had the opportunity to practice and develop their teamwork skills through a game competition by building the strongest and tallest “card” structure.  This activity stimulates planning, decision-making, organization and time management skills.
