AIG INDONESIA ENHANCES ITS TRAVEL GUARD ® PRODUCT WITH EXTRA FEATURES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JAKARTA, March 27, 2015 – PT AIG Insurance Indonesia (“AIG Indonesia”), a world leading general insurer, is enhancing its flagship travel insurance product, Travel Guard, by providing more features and demonstrating its commitment to the Indonesian market.

Apart from protection in the case of an accident, the broader range of new benefits include cover for the loss of travel documents, credit card fraud, baggage loss, flight delay, illness, and injury or death stemming from a natural disaster.

According to data from the World Tourism Organization, 95% of Indonesian travellers, including their families, are not protected by travel insurance during their voyages.

“There is still significantly low awareness among customers about the importance of having travel insurance which provides people with protection from unpleasant occurrences during their trips,” said Sonny Lambey, Director of AIG Indonesia.

“As one of market-leader travel insurance provider in Indonesia, where we have been operating for over 45 years, we understand that providing trusted and highquality service is important to our customers. Therefore, we continuously improve our products and services to provide maximum protection that suits the needs of our customers,” Mr. Lambey said.

One of Travel Guard’s key services is providing 24/7 emergency assistance in 40 spoken languages if customers encounter a problem while travelling. Customers also get assistance on a wide range of matters from weather conditions and medical advice to evacuation guidance and preferred hospital partners.

“With the improved benefits of Travel Guard, AIG Indonesia expects to continue to be the leading travel insurance provider. The product is offered through our various channel distributions such as travel agents, online, agents, brokers, direct and strategic partners,” said Lia Karmilawati, Head of Travel, AIG Indonesia.

In 2014, AIG Indonesia paid over IDR 16 billion in travel insurance claims for individual and corporate travellers.

AIG Indonesia launched the new benefits of Travel Guard at the ASTINDO Fair 2015, the country’s largest travel exhibition.
