The number of airline passengers in Indonesia is expected to reach 100 million passengers this year, an increase of 15% compared to 2013. Statistics however show that only 5 – 10% purchase travel insurance to protect themselves and their families during their voyages.
“Not many consumers understand the importance of having travel insurance, which can protect them from an unpleasant occurrence during their trip. Risks can vary from steep medical bills, loss of luggage, trip cancellation and penalties from flight delays. It is our commitment at AIG Indonesia to continue educating the market by communicating the importance of protection during travel. AIG paid over 550,000 travel insurance claims last year so we know how crucial this cover can be. We also strive to make our cover simpler and easier and to improve our service to fit the needs and growing demands of the Indonesian traveler,” said Philippe Danielski, Head of Consumer Insurance at AIG Indonesia.
AIG will provide free travel insurance for any ticket purchased during the travel fair, with trip cancellation and accidental death benefits for up to USD 15,000. There is also a 20% discount for purchasing additional travel insurance benefits.
Travel Guard®, AIG’s travel insurance product, a comprehensive range of travel insurance for all types of travel from a single journey to an annual holiday, that provide protections if any unexpected risk happens during the trip, such as risk due to accident, loss of travel documents, baggage loss, flight delay, illness to natural disaster.
“With our network in more than 130 countries around the world and our 24-hours worldwide travel assistance, we are ready to protect our customer anywhere and everywhere,” added Mr Danielski.
